But on Chicago’s West Side, and in similar communities across the country and around the globe, our neighbors face health disparities that should not exist. A few miles to the east or west of our neighborhood, average life expectancy rises a decade. At Lawndale Christian Family Medicine Residency, we know that addressing inequity and poverty is complex and challenging, but we are called to meet this challenge.
Our mission is to improve the health of our patients and community, and communities like ours, by caring for the marginalized with the love of Jesus and equipping our family medicine physicians with a skill set to pursue health equity for all communities.
